Project Summary
The Northwestern Prevention Collaborative is providing services across the continuum in an effort to integrate prevention, treatment and recovery services. Prevention efforts will focus on media campaigns to prevent initiation of opiate use, and access to opiates. They will increase the availability of naloxone and people trained to deliver it, provide training to help understand the disease of addiction and decrease stigma associated with the disease, and offer materials to dispose of, store or monitor prescription pain pills. Treatment will focus on providing intensive outpatient, office based outpatient treatment, MAT in Warren and Page Counties, work to get people who overdose or who are charged with opioid possession into treatment with the help of law enforcement/EMS. Recovery will offer case management services to people who are leaving the regional jail to help them access recovery services and help ensure stability, expand online peer recovery services, train additional peer recovery specialists, increase the number of MAT providers. Additionally, funds are available to help people who can't afford their medications or treatment and who need transportation to their medical/behavioral health services.
