Project Summary
The Eastern Shore Area Health Education Center, the lead applicant, along with Somerset County Health Department, McCready Health, Wicomico County Health Department, Crisfield Police Department, and the Somerset County Sheriff Department, is requesting funding of $200,000 to create a cross-sector consortium. The goal of this consortium is to plan an outreach program that will target residents of Somerset County who suffer from opioid addiction/opioid use disorder. The outreach program will decrease the number overdoses in Somerset County, help residents overcome treatment barriers, and provide smooth transition to services for those recovering from opioid addiction and/or overdose. The consortium will plan an outreach program that will respond to overdoses in Somerset County in real time by a peer support specialist and provide the patient with critical treatment resources and support.
