Project Summary
This project will lead to outcomes that reduce morbidity and mortality related to Substance Use Disorder (SUD) including Opioid Use Disorder OUD for seven rural counties in Southeast Missouri. The counties the comprise the catchment area are Madison, Mississippi, New Madrid, Perry, Scott, St. Genevieve, and Stoddard. Overall, these rural counties are plagued with poverty, unemployment, poor health care systems, workforce shortages and which cultivates a concentration of populations at risk for OUD. The Rural Integrated Service Alliance (RISA) will leverage local resources to conduct a needs assessment, conduct strategic planning, use MOUs as a platform for implementation of the strategic plan, develop sustainability strategies and provide community-based training to stakeholders.
